What In-Person Outbound Student Orientation (Parents do not attend this session)

When April 26th-29th, 2024

Where Seabeck Conference Center 13395 Lagoon Dr NW, Seabeck, WA USA 98380.  All food, lodging and lines are provided.

Time Students need to arrive between 3:00pm and 3:30pm on Friday April 26th and will depart by 10:30am Monday April 29th.    

How to get there?
There will be Rotarian Volunteers driving to Seabeck, so most of you should be able to car pool.  Please contact your Country Coordinator to help you with ride organization.

When you arrive at Seabeck you need to report to the Coleman Center.  There is an attached a map of the Seabeck Facility. 

Canadian Students:

  • Seabeck is in the USA.  You must bring you Passport!  Drivers will be checking before you get into the car. 
  • Turn off your data roaming on your cell phone.

Parents:
  • Please refrain from texting or calling your student during this weekend.
  • If parents have an emergency and need to get a hold of a student please feel free to call this number

What you need to bring (additional information is attached)
  • Pack in a SOFT sided bag.  These pack easier in a car
  • 4 days change of clothes (this is a camp setting, do not bring dress-up clothes or high heeled shoes). PACK LIGHTLY
  • Lightweight jacket (rainproof) and sweatshirt (it can get cold at night)
  • Swimsuit and/or shorts and shirt that can get wet WE DO HAVE A CHANCE TO SWIM!
  • Overnight bathroom supplies (toothbrush, etc.)
  • Research project (on a USB drive or physical copy)*
  • Sing your Host Country’s National Anthem.
  • Introduction in your Host Country language**
  • Your Rotary Youth Exchange Blazer and garment sleeve***
  • Printed Photos ****
  • Refillable Water bottle
  • Your smiling happy face and amazing attitude :-)

Do Not Bring
  1. Laptops, iPads or tablets (You absolutely DO NOT need them)
  2. Bedding and Towels (they are supplied)
